Last chance for Free COVID-19 tests

Friday, September 2, is the last day that you can take advantage of the United States Postal Service’s free individual home COVID-19 tests. Visit their website to order yours. Delivery takes 2-3 days.

Seger Park’s Woofstock Ends Tonight

Happening tonight from 5:30-7:30 PM. Join your neighbors for live music sponsored by Seger Dog Park. Bring your dog and enjoy beers & bevies in the dog park. Or bring a picnic blanket and enjoy a family outing in the non-dog park side of the park.

Doggie Bag Pilot installed

The WSWCA has been working behind the scenes all summer to help get a pilot group of Wash West courtesy doggie clean up bag dispensers placed in the neighborhood! The first one just went up at Sartain Garden this weekend. Special thanks to Seger Dog Park for their partnership on this project! Please help keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful by cleaning up after your pets and responsibly disposing of pet waste inside a trash receptacle on the street or at your home.

Annual Fishing Fest is set for Saturday, September 10

Join State Representative Mary Isaacson from 7 to 11 a.m. at Schuylkill Banks between Chestnut and Walnut Streets. Enjoy a morning of free catch-and-release fishing and friendly competition on Schuylkill BanksThe Fishing Fest is for anglers of all ages and levels of experience. No fishing license is required during the competition. Fishing gear will be available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis.

Independence Library Events

Have you visited our neighborhood Free Library of Philadelphia? Independence Library is located on 7th between Chestnut and Market and has a variety of events to engage readers of all levels. 

Next week, join the Mutter Museum’s program about “Bone Detectives”. Find all of their events here.

The Wash West Tree Tenders want to help you add to our neighborhood tree canopy. We work with PHS to plant bare-root trees bi-annually and we are planning for the next planting now.
