06/16/2020 – June Meeting Tonight – See our guest speakers and register!

Our June Public Meeting will be held tonight at 7:00 pm on Zoom. Please register if you haven’t at

. We will host two guest speakers who will share their organizations’ work on racial justice and how we as the civic or individuals can support their efforts. See our guest speakers below, and submit any questions you have at
this link
. We will also accept questions during the meeting in the chat window.
Our agenda will also cover items related to social distancing, traffic calming, open board positions, business insurance assistance and short-term rental properties.
Meet our Guest Speakers
Rev. Calenthia S. Downy 
Director of Faith Initiatives 
Philadelphia FIGHT
Rev. Calenthia S. Dowdy, Ph.D., is Director of Faith Initiatives. Her roles at FIGHT include education, outreach, spiritual counseling and faith work. Dr. Dowdy teaches a community course called Faithful TEACH educating faith leaders about HIV/AIDS with the goal of eradicating stigma and misinformation. The course also focuses on relationship and soul tending. Dowdy holds degrees from American University, Westminster Theological Seminary, UPENN and Temple. Other positions have included pastoring youth in and around urban churches, college chaplaincy and teaching, facilitating racial justice workshops, and completing the International Inside-Out Program for prison education in 2019. Dowdy is also honored to have received a Women’s Way Powerful Voice award in 2016.

Experienced social science researcher and program evaluator who believes in the ethical imperative to use data to guide social justice work toward equity and access. Demonstrated history of connecting theory with practice in non-profit management and program development, data-driven decision making, and adult education.
