COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

AND RESOURCES

Wash Square West Historic District Fundraiser

Last week we launched a fundraiser to preserve the architectural and cultural history of our neighborhood. Neighboring communities – Society Hill, Old City and Rittenhouse-Fitler – have made a commitment to protect and better manage how development impacts their neighborhood fabric. Can we count on you to help us do the same? Donate to the effort here.

Ever attended the Easter Promenade on South Street?

Dress up in your finest Sunday dress, or go over the top with a Henri David inspired costume. All are welcome. Read more of the history of the event and see some of Henri’s costumes for inspiration here. Find out specifics for this year’s celebration here.

Art is PHL has extended their application deadline

ARTisPHL is a program for artists working in all mediums and at every experience level. The goal is to create high-quality, artist-driven, and community-informed public art. We hope to provide opportunities for both funding and exposure for artists who may not have previously considered or had access to this type of arts practice. Find out more here.

Did you know the City has clothing and electronics recycling?

In 2020, SmartCityPHL partnered with Retrievr to offer on-demand doorstep collection for clothing and electronics. Read more about the service here. Schedule a pick up by calling or texting PICKUP to 757.70.FETCH (757.703.3824).

Want a FREE Street Tree?

The Wash West Tree Tenders want to help you add to our neighborhood tree canopy. We work with PHS to plant bare-root trees bi-annually and we are planning for the fall planting now. Click here to read more and apply for your street tree! Deadline for Fall 2022 applications is April 30, 2022. Apply now!
