Over the last 12 months, the WSW Civic has been hosting community conversations to explore, learn and communicate the preservation challenges, needs, and venues available to organizations like ours to promote the preservation of properties with historical value and WSW’s historic character. Haven’t made it to all the conversations? No problem, all the videos are posted on our website here.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

AND RESOURCES

City Nature Challenge is this weekend

Let’s celebrate urban nature this weekend by participating in the City Nature Challenge. Cities around the world compete to most the most observations of nature. How do they do it? Using the iNaturalist app and citizens like you. The app is great for snapping a picture of a plant, critter, fungi, animal and uploading the a community of experts to identify. It’s geolocated so you can explore all the nature found around you. Join the fun and help Philly beat

Here’s the link to do that.  If you want the convenience of voting by mail-in ballot, there are many ways to do it including requesting and dropping at City Hall. Find out more here.

Attention Hello Kitty Fans…

Who knew that there was a traveling Hello Kitty Cafe van dedicated to spreading the Sanrio joy. This Saturday the super cute van will be in Philly at 9th & Market. Find out more information about the event, and get a glimpse of the van here.

On Saturday, we made new homeowners even happier by planting a tree in their open pit. Do you or your neighbor have one to fill?

We work with PHS to plant bare-root trees bi-annually and we are planning for the fall planting now. Click here to read more and apply for your street tree! Deadline for Fall 2022 applications is April 30, 2022. Apply now!
