HISTORIC DISTRICT FUNDRAISER

There are so many reasons to have a Washington Square West Historic District.

Designation will preserve the rich history of our neighborhood while ensuring that the stories of the past continue to have a physical home to be remembered by. It’s also great for the environment because renovating existing buildings has a lower environmental impact.

The Civic has hosted many conversations on these topics. Find out more about the effort and to donate at our website.

History Tour Postponed

As part of the fundraising event, the Civic is organizing a series of historic tours around the neighborhood. May has proved to be a busy month!

Although we are looking forward to this tour, we are postponing until more folks can attend. We will let you know when it is rescheduled in the fall.

Fun for all ages

Not in the neighborhood, but fun for families. Join the Fairmount Park Conservancy (FPC) at their second community workshop with Tiny WPA on Saturday, 5/21 from 10AM-1PM at the FDR Park Clubhouse and help build picnic tables for our future pop-up play space. All ages encouraged, no experience necessary.

Dreaming of Dragon Boats?

Another FPC event that might be of interest to neighbors over 18.

Paddle with the Park Champions!

For the first time in the organization’s history, Fairmount Park Conservancy is entering a team in the 15th Annual Independence Dragon Boat Regatta (IDBR) on Saturday, 6/4. Limited spots remain to join the FPC team of “Park Champions”.

No experience necessary! Sign up here.
