NID Meeting Planned for June 3, 2014

The NID (Neighborhood Improvement District) Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, at the Jefferson Alumni Hall, 1020 Locust Street, in the Brent Auditorium.

As we have reported previously, the Government Affairs Committee, working with a steering committee composed of people in a few other organizations, will hold a public meeting to explain the concept of a Neighborhood Improvement District. They will explain how the law which governs the formation and working of a NID functions, and will answer your questions. It’s anticipated that Councilman Squilla or his representative will attend as well, as the Councilman’s actions are directly responsible for the formation of a NID.

The NID will not go forward without significant public input. Your board has approved the holding of this meeting, but it is the WSWCA Government Affairs Committee in concert with a Steering Committee (not part of WSWCA), which is responsible for this meeting. The Committee will be posting explanatory information on our website at https://www.washwestcivic.org/initiatives/neighborhood-improvement-district-nid so that you can come to the public meeting with information that will be useful for your understanding of this issue. Please keep checking the website for material to be posted.
